Casie began her sporting career as an energetic youngster, who won all her school athletics and cross country competitions. Casie then moved to North Island in New Zealand to pursue her surf lifesaving in the form of beach sprinting. It wasn’t until she was 13 years old and won her first ever national medal, that she decided to take this competitive sprinting seriously. She trained hard for the next eight years and over this period won U16, U19 and open beach flag national titles. Casie was also selected for the NZ team four years in a row, to compete at the Sanyo Cup competition in Japan.
